Assistant Housekeeping Supervisor (Orchard Parksuites)

Responsibilities

  • Direct, guide, and oversee Room Attendants to maintain the highest standard of cleanliness and tidiness in all assigned apartments and floor corridors for the safety and comfort of guests.
  • Inspect apartments at various stages to ensure maintenance of quality and standards. 
  • Manage the assigned floor and ensure vacant apartments are consistently in an 'arrival-ready' state.
  • Identify apartments for the CARE Program, ensuring they meet the refurnished standard, organizing deep cleaning, and providing timely feedback to Front Office and Engineering if necessary.
  • Set up show flats and ensure their top condition.
  • Prepare one standby apartment in each category for emergency room moves or temporary stays.
  • Plan work schedules for Houseman.
  • Assign and follow up on special cleaning requirements with Houseman to ensure standards and requirements are met.
  • Follow up on periodic cleaning for long-stay guests and action any maintenance requests or deep cleaning in line with standard operating procedures.
  • Log work orders for Engineering promptly and follow up on outstanding orders to ensure satisfactory completion of repair/maintenance before the next arrival.
  • Maintain knowledge of the property and provide information to staff and guests when required.
  • Organize work efficiently and manage peak hour rush with compsure.
  • Provide support and cooperation to Front Office, Engineering, and Laundry.
  • 'Meet and Greet' guests to build relationships and provide personalized services, gathering feedback of their stay.
  • Notify Housekeeper immediately in case of property damage or theft, by guests or staff.
  • Handover lost and found items to Housekeeping and log them promptly.
  • Conduct random checks for linen stocks, cleaning tools, and supplies in the floor pantry to ensure proper storage and usage.
  • Ensure all fire staircases, service areas, and fire exits are free of obstruction objects. Inform the Housekeeper or the relevant department head and attempt to remove any obstructions before a hazard occurs. 
  • Assist in monthly stock-take exercises and provide support when needed.
  • Ensure daily updates on apartment status are communicated to Front Office via the discrepancy report.
  • Ensure fair distribution of workload among Room Attendants and prioritize cleaning requests.
  • Calculate overtime claims in a timely manner for onward processing via the HR system and conduct proper check and balance before submission.
  • Keep the Housekeeper informed of staff performance and conduct verbal or written counselling jointly with the Housekeeper to correct and align performance.
  • Ensure VIP/trial/complimentary apartments are properly inspected and released on time to management for further inspection where necessary.
  • Inspect apartments, corridors, service areas, lift landings, storerooms, floor pantries, bin chutes, and backstairs regularly to ensure compliance with quality and standards, cleanliness, and tidiness.
  • Report any suspicious persons lingering on the floor according to procedures. 

Requirements

  • O-Level or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience in Hotel/Serviced Residence Housekeeping
  • Proactive, meticulous and able to perform strenuous activities and handle heavy load
